Description

Aquitane House is a mid-19th century house located on Grand Parade in Portsmouth. The house is stuccoed and has a hipped roof covered in Welsh slate, with a rendered stack on the left side. It is four storeys high, with three bays. The corners feature vermiculated rusticated strips.

A four-panel door, flanked by sidelights, is located on the right side, beneath a moulded architrave. To the left of the door are two large tripartite sash windows set within rendered eared architraves, each featuring a vermiculated keystone and a moulded sill. Four-pane sashes are found above the door and on the upper floors, each also set in similar architraves. Two tripartite canted oriel windows are present on the first floor, with sashes, pilasters dividing the lights, and panelled aprons, friezes, and cornices. Sillbands run along the second and third floors. An eaves cornice tops the building, followed by a coped parapet. The interior has not been inspected.
