Description
The Sallyport Hotel is a hotel located in Portsmouth, with a front dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. The building is stuccoed and features a plain tile roof. It stands four storeys high with an attic and has seven bays arranged in a 3:1:3 pattern, with the outer sections canted. The central entrance has a fully glazed double door set within a moulded architrave and head. On either side of the doorway are large tripartite bay windows with 12-pane sash windows that extend the full height of the building. The first floor has a 20th-century fascia and balcony railing. The first and second floors have 12-pane sash windows in the bays and centre, while the third floor features 9 and 6-pane sashes. The second, fourth, and sixth windows on the second floor have moulded architraves and pediments. The building is topped with a dentilled eaves cornice and a coped parapet, along with three 20th-century flat-roofed dormers. The interior has not been inspected.
