Description

1, 3, and 5 Lombard Street are three houses built in the mid to late 17th century, with alterations made in the late 18th century. The buildings are finished in stucco and feature a plain tiled roof, with a brick chimney stack to the right of No. 1 and a rendered stack to the left of No. 5.

Each house is two storeys high with an attic and consists of two bays. No. 1 has a four-panelled door on the right, with the upper panels glazed and a semicircular fanlight above set under a rounded arch. To the left, there are two 12-pane sash windows. No. 3 features steps leading up to a six-panelled door on the right, also with glazed upper panels and a pediment hood supported by shaped brackets. To the left, there are two bow-framed sash windows with 24 panes, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor. No. 5 has a six-panelled door on the right, with glazed upper panels and a similar pediment hood. It has three stone steps leading to the doorway, which is flanked by attached railings. To the left of No. 5 is a tripartite canted oriel window with a 16-pane centre sash and two 8-pane flanking sashes, topped with a flat hood and supported by a rendered shaped support below the sill. The first floor of No. 5 has two 12-pane sash windows. A band course runs above the first-floor windows of Nos. 3 and 5. Each attic features a two-light casement window set in a Dutch gable, with No. 1 also having a dormer to the right of the gable. The left return of No. 1 has two 12-pane sashes on the ground and first floors, along with a casement window set in a Dutch gable. The interior has not been inspected.
