Description
No. 12 Villiers Road is a house built in 1858, constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with an interlocking tiled roof and a rendered stack on the left. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring two bays and stone quoin strips.
The entrance on the left consists of a six-panelled door with a chamfered stone surround, set back behind a projecting open timber porch that has a pitched roof and cut bargeboards. To the right, there is a projecting bay with a steep pitched gable and elaborate cut bargeboards, which contains a tripartite stone bay with chamfered mullions and surround, as well as centre and side sashes, topped with a tented tiled roof.
On the first floor, there is a 20th-century casement window with a rusticated stone surround. The attic features a narrow casement window within the gable, also with a similar surround. On the left side, there is a very narrow two-storey recessed extension with a facing gable and cut bargeboards, which includes a door and a small casement window above with patterned margin glazing.
The interior has not been inspected. This house is part of a group of mid-19th century houses located on Villiers Road.
