Description
The Cottage, located to the north-east of Brayfield House, is a former outbuilding that has been converted into a cottage. It is constructed from 18th-century rubble stone and features a tile roof with stone coped gables and shaped kneelers. The building is two storeys high. The south wall has a central door with a semicircular arched window above, which includes a raised keyblock, imposts, and a cill. The east elevation has two sash windows on the left and irregular openings on the right. The west elevation, facing the yard, has two doors and five 2-light casements on the ground floor, all with cement lintels and keyblocks, as well as three 2-light casements on the first floor. There is a stone arch that links to the Stable Block, which is attached to this elevation. At the south end, there is a screen wall with a pair of stone gatepiers in the center, featuring scroll-topped pilasters on the inner faces, moulded cornices, and ball finials.
