Description

This is a house with a shop, likely dating from the 16th century, with a front facade from the mid-18th century. The front is stuccoed over brick, while the rear is timber-framed, and the roof is covered in concrete tiles. Interior features and visible framing, including a ceiling beam and joists (similar to those in the adjacent property at No. 73), indicate an original date of the 16th century. The building is three storeys high and has a symmetrical two-window front. It features a moulded cornice and a gutter with shaped struts. The upper floors contain 18-pane horned sash windows; those on the second floor have decorative surrounds, while those on the first floor are set within reveals. A shop front in a late 20th century style, circa 1900, has been added. Inside, the ground floor has large joists and a ceiling beam. The upper floors were not inspected, but are understood to contain revealed framing, although no panelling remains.
