Description

This is a mid-18th century house with a shop, substantially rebuilt in the late 20th century. It is located on High Street, Rochester. The building is constructed of brick with a Kent tile roof, and has weatherboarding to the rear. It is two storeys high, with a symmetrical three-window front. A parapet features stone coping, and a prominent moulded brick cornice which does not run the full width of the building. The first-floor windows are tall, 18-pane hornless sashes with blank panels above. A late 20th century shopfront is present at street level, styled to resemble a circa 1900 design. The rear elevation has a three-window range with 16-pane hornless sashes. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included on the list for its group value.
