Description
9 and 10 Mansion Row are a pair of houses built in the mid to late 18th century. They are constructed of Flemish bond brick with stone dressings, featuring ridge stacks and a tiled half-hipped mansard valley roof. The houses are designed in a double-depth plan and stand two storeys high with an attic, each having a two-window range.
As a matching pair, they have a brick cornice and parapet, along with a central timber doorcase that includes architraves, a thin entablature, and a cornice. The door to No. 9 is a flush-panelled six-panel door, while No. 10 has a 20th-century door. Both houses feature rubbed brick flat arches, with No. 9 having horned eight-over-eight pane sashes on the ground floor and six-over-six pane sashes on the first floor. No. 10 has plate-glass sashes in flush frames. There are also two flat-headed raking dormers at the front and rear of each house. The interior has not been inspected.
