Description
Mansion House is a house that has been converted into a retirement home, built in the late 18th century. The building is made of rendered brick and features brick stacks behind the ridge, although the roof is not visible.
The exterior consists of three storeys and a basement, arranged in a two-bay range. The front has a parapet and a plat band, with an off-centre doorway that has a plain mid-20th century surround, an overlight, a pediment, and a glazed door. There are full-height canted bays with sunken panels beneath flat cornices that have modillions, featuring 8/8-pane central sashes and 4/4-pane flanking sashes. The left-hand side has a two-storey canted bay with modillions.
Inside, there is a central through hall with a right-hand axial stair flight that has curtail stick balusters and a swept rail. The interior also includes six-panel doors and panelled shutters.
