Description
No. 37 Maidstone Road is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of gault brick and features a tiled mansard roof with a ridge stack. The building has two storeys and one window range, with a 4-pane horned sash window under a rubbed brick flat arch on each floor. To the right, there is a doorway with panelled reveals and pilasters, featuring a panelled door beneath a rectangular overlight with glazing bars. The front and rear elevations have a parapet with a cornice band and stone coping. The rear elevation includes one 12-pane horned sash window under a flat arch, complete with external shutters. The ground floor is partially obscured by a later addition that extends to the street. This house is noted as the least altered in this late 18th-century development. The front of the house faces Pleasant Row, which was laid out in 1786. The interior has not been inspected.
