Description

This is a mid-19th century row of cottages located on the south side of High Street, Carisbrooke. The row consists of four cottages numbered 75 to 79. They are built of red brick with grey brick headers and red brick dressings. The roofs are slate with three flat-roofed dormers. Each cottage has a single window to the front, recessed and with intact glazing bars. The windows are sash windows with segmental brick arches, except for the window at No. 79. The windows have block sills. Each cottage has a recessed front door; the lower portions of the doors are panelled, and the upper portions are glazed. The door at No. 79 has four fielded panels rather than three, and is also recessed with a segmental brick arch. Cottages numbered 69 to 79 form a group.
