Description

Newport Nodehill County Middle School and Library was originally the Technical Institute and Seely Library, built in 1904 by W. Venn Cough. The building is constructed of red brick with rendered dressings and features decorative details in a free Jacobean-Dutch style. It has a symmetrical design with gabled end bays and a main block that has a gable end roof. The entrance bay is elaborate and projects outward, while the building also includes strapwork decoration, pilasters, and tall arched windows with keystones.
