Description

The Central Barn at Shalcombe Manor is a barn dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed clunch and features a roof that is now covered in corrugated iron, with stone coping and kneelers at one end. The barn includes stone ventilation slits and double cart doors. It has four bays and an angled queen strut roof that supports two tiers of chamfered purlins. The barn has been reraftered, and there is a brick alcove to the left of the entrance. Additions to either side of the barn are not considered to be of special interest.
