Description
The Seaford Hotel is a large house built around 1840, set well back from the street and accessed by a drive. It is two storeys high and has a stuccoed exterior. The main front faces the sea and consists of two blocks, with the western block projecting. Each block features three windows, a stringcourse, and an eaves cornice, although the glazing bars are missing. A notable feature is the trellised iron verandah at the eastern end of the front, which has a glass roof. Adjacent to this verandah and the projecting wing is a solid porch with a balustraded parapet above it. The eastern side of the entrance front includes a porch with coupled fluted columns and a plain pilaster. To the south of this porch is a bay window on the ground floor, which retains its glazing bars. Further south, there is an additional wing that is one window wide, topped with a gable and featuring a projecting bay on both the ground and first floors.
