Description

The Grange is a house that was formerly a rectory, originating from the 17th or 18th century. It is marked on the Ordnance Survey map of 1792 but has undergone alterations and extensions in the mid-19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed from stone rubble and features a thatched roof. It has an irregular, roughly L-shaped form and stands two storeys tall.

On the south-east elevation, there are four windows. The left side features a projecting gable with plain bargeboards and a triple casement window. The central part consists of two bays, which include one tall four-light casement window and one two-light casement window. There is a two-centred arched doorcase with a six-panelled door and carved spandrels. To the right, there is a slightly recessed gable with plain bargeboards, a stone mullioned attic window, and a three-light casement window below. The building has brick chimneystacks.

The south-west elevation includes three casement windows and one eyebrow dormer, along with French windows and a later stone and glazed porch. To the left, there is a mid-19th century addition of one bay, built from stone with a tiled roof, featuring one triple mullioned window and one five-light canted bay. Attached to the north-west are 19th-century outbuildings. The interior retains some chamfered beams with lamb's tongue stops and a two-panelled door with L hinges.
