Description
The Old Thatch is a house and restaurant dating from around 1840, designed in the Gothic style as indicated on the 1842 Tithe map. The building is constructed of painted rubble and features a thatched roof. It has an irregular shape and is either one storey or one storey with attics, containing three windows. The south side has a projecting gable adorned with bargeboards that display Victorian scrolls and a pendant. The first floor features a four-light oriel window supported by brackets, while the ground floor has an altered window. To the north, there is a one-storey section with two renewed casement windows topped with eyebrows. A tall stuccoed chimney is present, and the rear has a catslide roof. Inside, there is a staircase with stick balusters and matchboard panelling in the front right side room.
