Description
The barn at Lessland is a Grade II listed structure consisting of two sections. The southwest part dates from the early 18th century or earlier, while the northeast section is dated 1801 and features the initials TW. The barn is constructed from coursed stone rubble, has a deep plinth, and is topped with a corrugated iron roof. The gable end at the southwest has kneelers, and this section includes two tiers of six triangular ventilation slits. The northeast part has three narrow lancet windows, although a 19th-century extension to the northeast is not considered of special interest. Inside, the barn has nine bays and likely features a late 18th-century angled queen strut roof, which includes two tiers of through purlins and diagonal wind braces.
