Description

The Church of Chapel of St Thomas's is a proprietary chapel that remains in private ownership. It was originally built by Thomas Player in 1719 and later enlarged and rebuilt by George Player in 1827. The chapel features a rudimentary Gothic style, constructed from stone that is coursed to imitate bricks, with patches of brick and flint in some areas and rusticated quoins. It has a castellated parapet and a small square west tower that is also castellated. The tall windows are adorned with Perpendicular tracery. Inside, the chapel is galleried and retains many original box pews.
