Description
26 Holyrood Street is a three-storey building that is slightly lower than its neighbors, part of the same premises as Nos 24 and 25. The building has been refaced in red brick and features a square-headed gable with stone coping, with an old tile roof behind. The second-floor window is a casement with a modern cement lintel and glazing bars above a block sill. On the first floor, there is a window with two lights that is a sash type, framed by a moulded flush wood architrave and a modern cement lintel with a keystone above a block sill. The ground floor has a recessed door with four incised panels, and the reveals and soffit are panelled. The doorcase is notable for its Doric pilasters with incised panels, a frieze featuring a dentil band, and a cornice. Additionally, there is a mid-19th century shop front frame with panelled pilasters, fluted brackets with incised roundels on their heads, which support a cornice.
