Description

This is a headstone commemorating Frances Jolliffe, dating from around 1740. It is located approximately half a meter east of the south porch at St Peter and St Paul's Church in Brighstone. The headstone features a scrolled top adorned with tendrils and floral drops on the sides. In the center, there is a poem that reads:

"God's love and favour is not seen always
By worldly comfort nor yet length of days
Long life on earth do but prolong our pain
And happy death it is the greatest gain."
