PRIORY ROAD, ST HELEN'S 1. 1577 St Helen's Priory SZ 6390 5/118A

II 2. The house is C20 but retains on the West front a restored portal deriving from the original cluniac Priory of St Helen's, founded in l090. The portal has clustered columns with stiff leaf capitals and pointed arch with crockets and finial, saints heads in hollow chamfers (probably the head at Oak Hill, Oakhill Road, Springvale derives from here). Fruit and leaf decoration in outer chamfer. Pairs of angels each side possibly added later.
