Description
Masonic Hall is a mid-19th century building located on Lugley Street. It is two storeys high and constructed of deep red brick in a mid-17th century Anglo-Dutch style. The building features a heavy modillion cornice at the top. On the first floor, there are four windows and a plaque in the centre; these windows have architraves and sills supported by consoles, with moulded cornices and are framed by composite pilasters. The ground floor has blind arcading with banded rustication on the piers, along with round-headed windows and a door. A central arch is completed to form a circular frame for a relief of a medieval ship. The ground floor also displays an egg and dart and modillion cornice.
