Description

Willses is a house likely dating from the late 17th or early 18th century, located on Upper Lane in Brighstone. It is constructed of Isle of Wight stone rubble with some ironstone and ashlar quoins, and has a thatched roof with two cement-rendered chimneystacks. The building is two storeys high with three windows facing the front and four at the rear. The front elevation features three modern casement windows, with the ground floor windows having brick hood mouldings and a Dutch gabled brick porch. A gable end exhibits kneelers with tumbling on one side. The rear elevation has modern casement windows and a modern glazed and tiled porch. A one-storey stone rubble extension with a thatched roof is attached to the left side, featuring a plank door and modern casements. A deep plinth is present.
