Description

Cliff Thatch is a house that was formerly a farmhouse, dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. The exterior is rendered and features a thatched roof that is half-hipped on the left side. A central brick chimneystack is panelled. The house has two storeys and four windows, including casement windows, one of which is an original stone mullion located at the centre of the first floor, along with two sliding casements. There is a modern gabled weather porch at the front and a modern lean-to porch on the right-hand side. The left side has a wooden bressumer, and there is a modern lean-to extension at the rear. Inside, the house has exposed square framing. The ground floor room on the right side features an open fireplace with a bread oven and a salt niche. There are two panelled doors with fielded panels on the ground floor, and a winder staircase.
