Description
The stabling and cart lodge at Apse Manor is a late 18th-century structure arranged on three sides of a courtyard. It is primarily built of stone rubble with red brick dressings and features a tiled roof. The central entrance has a cambered carriage arch with a keystone and a gable above, which includes a rectangular window. On either side of the entrance, there are two cambered casements with metal windows and cambered headed surrounds, although one of these is now blocked. To the north, the cart shed has six cambered arches for carts and is constructed in English bond brickwork. Inside the stabling area, the walls are made of brick in Sussex bond.
