Description

Boxhurst is a house, originally a farmhouse, dating to the late 17th or early 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. The ground floor is red brick with grey brick headers, while the first floor is tile hung. The roof is tiled, featuring brick chimneystacks at each end. The house is two storeys high with attics, and has three windows, alongside two hipped dormers with 20th-century casements. The front features large 20th-century mullioned and transomed casements, and a large, gabled weather porch on the left side. A 20th-century addition is constructed in timber framing. The north and south ends, as well as the northwest end, are finished with brickwork and tile hanging. The interior includes chambered spine beams with run-out stops, an inglenook fireplace with two recesses, and a pump dated 1804.
