Description
The Wheatsheaf Inn is an 18th-century inn that has been altered in the 20th century. The section facing the street is from the 20th century and is not of special interest, while the part facing the alley is the original structure. The southern part is made of painted brick with a tiled roof, featuring two storeys and a window arrangement of two on the first floor and three on the ground floor. The first floor has two mid-19th century sash windows with verticals only, set in moulded architraves. The ground floor includes three casement windows in wooden architraves and a late 18th-century doorcase with a six-panelled door, where the top two panels are glazed. The northern part is also stuccoed and has a tiled roof, with two storeys and two windows. It features casement windows and a central doorcase leading to a glazed porch. The interior has been altered.
