Description
The Engineering and Applied Sciences building at the University of Sussex, designed by Sir Basil Spence, was constructed between 1964 and 1966. This university building features red brick and bare board-marked concrete, with timber windows and a flat roof. It stands three storeys tall, with the south facade consisting of 11 bays that showcase a 'giant order' arcade, where windows are recessed between projecting brick piers. Notably, there is a projecting arched concrete canopy above the fifth bay from the right. The return to the west side is mostly blind, featuring only a single vertical row of windows. There is also a staircase adjoining to the south. The interior has not been inspected.
