Description
The Old Farmhouse is a former farmhouse dating to 1619, as indicated by a stone on the east wall. It extends northwards from Down House, forming an "L" shape with that property. The building is constructed of random flint with brick dressings, and has a tiled roof. The west-facing entrance front is two storeys high with dormers, and features a five-window arrangement. A segmental-arched entrance is located within a 20th-century porch on the right, while the ground-floor windows have flat arches and appear to be considerably enlarged. Upper-floor windows are segmental-arched, with red brick quoins and a dentil cornice. A ridge stack is also present. The interior has not been inspected. This building is of group value with Down House.
