Description

This is an 18th-century court house, which presents as a single house and is adjoined by Court House Close. The building is constructed of dressed flints on a base of cobbles, with stucco finishes and a tile roof.

The exterior is two storeys and five windows wide, a double-fronted design. A central porch features chamfered columns and a spreading cap supporting an entablature with a band of bolection-moulded brackets. The panelled doorcase has a flat-arched entrance, a fanlight with intersecting tracery, and a panelled door of original design. Brick quoins are visible on the right-hand side and the ground floor of the left-hand side, while the first floor on the left is rendered. All windows are flat-arched with plain stuccoed architraves and a minimal cornice above the ground-floor windows. A moulded eaves cornice runs the length of the building, and there are end stacks of red brick. The court house was originally the farmhouse of Court House Farm.

Number 1 Court House Close is a lower wing to the east of the main house, rendered with a tile roof and featuring original sash windows. Number 2 Court House Close is attached to the rear of the court house and has painted cobbles with brick dressings, covered by a tile roof. It is two storeys high with a single window facing The Green, where the segmental-arched openings have been renewed. A single-storey gabled wing projects forward to the road and currently serves as a garage.

The interior of the building has not been inspected.
