Description
The Black Horse Public House is a terraced building located on High Street in Rottingdean, dated 1513 on the front but significantly altered over time. It features a timber-frame structure that is now rendered, with a tiled roof. The building has two storeys and two windows. There are three flat-arched entrances: one on the north side with an overlight and sidelights, one in the center, and one on the splayed south corner where the upper storey jetties out. The ground floor has two flat-arched windows, and there are two more on the first floor, likely from the 19th century. A ridge stack is present. The only visible internal evidence of the original frame is a moulded beam in the middle bar.
