Description

Rose Cottage (Number 6) is an 18th-century semi-detached house located on Vicarage Terrace in Rottingdean, Brighton. It forms part of a pair, with the adjacent property at Number 5. The building is constructed of flint with brick dressings, and has a tile roof. Number 5 is two stories high with a two-window front. Number 6 is also two stories high and includes a dormer window, again with a two-window front. Both houses have brick quoins. Number 5 features a flat-arched entrance with pilasters and an open pediment supported by consoles, as well as two flat-arched windows. Number 6 has a segmental-arched entrance linked to a segmental-arched window on the left by surrounding brickwork, a round arch leading to a side passage, a segmental-arched window above the passage, and a cambered-arched upper window. A flat-arched dormer window is also present. Chimney stacks are situated on the party wall between the two houses. The interior was not inspected during the listing process.
