Description
Numbers 12 and 13 Grand Parade are a pair of terraced houses built around 1815. They have black mathematical tiles and painted brick dressings for the quoins; the roof of Number 12 is tiled, while Number 13 has a slate roof. The flat-arched entrance has a reeded architrave and overlight, with segmental bays to the ground and first floors, the first floors being offset. The windows are tripartite on all floors, with those on the second floor widened, revealing the remains of the original gauged brick heads. The original sash windows remain in Number 12 on the ground and first floors, and on the first floor of Number 13. Number 13 features a bracketed verandah, likely added later, and a parapet. A dormer window is present in the pitched roof of Number 12, while Number 13 has a dormer in its mansard roof. Chimney stacks are located on the side walls. The interior has not been inspected. Cast-iron railings are present to the steps and area. These houses demonstrate group value as part of a significant terrace.
