Description
No. 1 Bartholomews is a terraced house that has been converted into shops and flats. It was built in the early 19th century and features stucco that is scored to imitate ashlar stone. The building has three storeys and an attic above a basement, with a symmetrical three-window range on the front elevation. All the windows are flat arched and have projecting sills. There is a storey band between the first and second floors, and a full entablature at the second floor, with the upper fascia aligned with the sills of the attic windows. The attic has a cornice, and the windows have deep reveals with original design sashes, consisting of 8 over 8 panes on all floors. There are chimney stacks on the party walls. The interior has not been inspected. No. 1 Bartholomews is part of a group with Nos. 3-6 Bartholomews.
