Description
No. 1 Waterloo Place is a terraced house built around 1819, possibly designed by Amon Wilds. The building features red brick and stucco, with its roof hidden behind a parapet. It has four storeys and a one-window range. The ground floor has been brought forward and stuccoed in the late 20th century. There is a shallow central segmental bay on the first, second, and third floors, which includes tripartite windows with original details on the mullions that are visible. The first-floor windows may have original sash designs but were mostly boarded up during the inspection. The second and third-floor windows retain their original sash designs and have louvred upper parts, a characteristic feature of Amon Wilds. The spandrels have been rebuilt using unsympathetic brick. The interior was not inspected.
