Description

This is a row of ten terraced houses, numbers 7 to 19 Wyndham Street, built in the early 19th century. Numbers 8, 11 to 14, and 16 to 19 are faced with stucco, while numbers 7, 10, and 15 to 16 have painted brick laid in a Flemish bond pattern. Number 9 is constructed of red brick, also in Flemish bond. The roofs are hidden behind parapets, although number 10 has a tile roof.

The houses are three stories high with a basement. Each house originally had one window. Each property features a distinctive arched entrance; number 9 has an elliptical arch, with all others being round-arched. Fanlights are found above the entrances of numbers 14 and 16 to 19. A drip moulding is above the entrance to number 14, while number 13 has an architrave with fluted pilasters to its entry. Number 11’s entry features panelled pilasters with plain capitals, and number 9’s entrance is set under a shallow porch, supported by brackets, with a gabled roof treated as a pediment. A full-height canted bay window, with tripartite windows, is to the left of each entrance. All windows are flat-arched, and the spandrels of the bay windows on numbers 9, 11, and 13 are panelled. Cornices are present on numbers 7, 9, 11, and 13. A flat-arched dormer window is above number 10. Chimney stacks are located on the party walls between the houses. The interiors have not been inspected.
