Description
This mid-to-late 19th-century gas standard was later converted to an electric light standard in the early 20th century. The cast-iron lamp post stands on the pavement and features a fluted, tapering shaft that rises to a cylindrical impost block. A single maintenance arm projects from the top of the shaft at a right angle. Above this is a rectangular circuit box, from which a swan-necked arm extends, supported by a scroll bracket and a shallow dish reflector.
