Description
120 and 121 St James's Street are terraced houses dating from the early 19th century. They feature painted mathematical tiles and have a tiled roof. The buildings rise three storeys above a basement, with each house having one window. The ground floor of No. 121 is occupied by a late 19th or early 20th century cast-iron shop front designed as a canted bay. The cornice of this shop front is continuous across both houses, indicating that No. 120 originally had a similar front before it was replaced in the 20th century. The first and second floors of both houses have a segmental bay with flat-arched, tripartite windows; the sashes are of the original design, with 6 x 6 panes in the center and 4 x 4 panes on the sides. Each house also has one flat-arched dormer. The left party wall of No. 120 features a painted brick quoin strip, and there is a straight join between the two houses. The interior has not been inspected.
