Description

No. 60 is a terraced house located on Middle Street in Brighton, likely built in the late 18th century. The exterior features knapped flint with red brick dressings and quoins, along with stucco, and a tiled roof. The building has two storeys and a three-window range. The central entrance is segmental-arched and includes an overlight. To the right is a broad shop window supported by fluted pilasters, while the other windows are all segmental-arched. The first-floor windows have blind-boxes. There are bands of red brick at the base, as a storey band, and below the cornice; the stucco cornice and blocking course are also present. The house has a gambrel roof with side stacks. Although the house was stuccoed in the 19th century, its original front was restored in 1989. The interior has not been inspected.
