Description
Church Cottage and Flax Bourton are two houses dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 20th centuries. The buildings are constructed with a timber frame that is encased in painted brick, topped with an old tile gabled roof.
The houses have a rectangular plan and stand two storeys tall. They feature two chimneys with corniced heads and clay pots. The north front, which serves as the entrance, has four bays. The two central windows on the first floor are 2-light casements, while the outer windows are 3-light. The ground floor windows have segmental brick arches. Church Cottage has a four-panelled door located under a gabled hood, while Flax Bourton has a six-panelled door, with the top four panels glazed, situated in a pent roof extension. There is also a 4-light window to the right of this door. The interior has not been inspected.
