Description
Old Oak Farm, The Clockhouse and Old Oak Court are a group of three former houses, originally built in the early 18th century and altered in the mid-20th century. They were originally the stable block to Easthampstead Park, which was rebuilt in 1860 and is now Easthampstead Park College. The building is constructed of painted brick and has a large, hipped roof covered in old tiles.
The building is two storeys high with attics, and has a long, rectangular plan. A distinctive feature is a hexagonal bellcote located in the centre of the roof, topped with an ogee cap and weathervane, with a clock visible in its base. The exterior includes a high, weathered plinth and a deep, moulded eaves cornice with modillions. There are four roof dormers with casement windows and small hipped roofs. The windows are a mix of sash windows with glazing bars and casement windows, all dating from the 20th century. The main front is irregular, with a central section featuring five sash windows on the first floor and two on the ground floor. Lunette windows flank the central section at first floor level, with casement windows beyond. Other sash and casement windows are interspersed around the ground floor, punctuated by three 20th-century panelled doors set in Georgian-style surrounds, and flanked by three 20th-century garage doors. The interior has not been inspected.
