Description

The railings to Madeley Cottage, dating from the 19th century, feature very narrow uprights topped with spear-headed finials. The gate has similar narrow uprights, an inverted top rail, and a semi-circular rail at the lower part. These railings, along with Anne Boleyn's Well, Madeley Cottage, and St Mary's, contribute to a group that includes the road bridge, Leoni bridge, culvert, and retaining walls to Carshalton Ponds, No 1 High Street, entrance gates to the Grove, Honeywood Museum, wall and gatehouse, Honeywood Walk, Greyhound Inn, wall to the east of Greyhound Inn, Church of All Saints, north churchyard wall, and Nos 6 and 12 High Street.
