Nos 40 and 42 Hill Rise are 18th-century buildings that were originally an advanced wing of Holbrook House. They are three storeys tall and two windows wide, constructed of brick. The buildings feature a bow-fronted design with a modernized 19th-century shop front on the ground floor.
