Description

Nos 8 and 9 Westgate are a pair of buildings dating from the 17th or 18th century. They are timber-framed and were heightened and refronted in the late 18th or early 19th century. The exterior is finished with colour-washed brick and features a pantiled roof with stone slate verges at the rear. The buildings are two storeys high and consist of three bays, with segment-headed flush-framed sash windows. The ground floor has been adapted for modern shops. Inside, there is a staircase from the late 18th or early 19th century and moulded plaster cornices in most of the rooms.
