Description
The Black Swan Public House is a building located on the south side of Westgate in Ripon. It features a front that dates from the early or mid-19th century, though it may be older. The exterior is finished in stucco and topped with a modern pantiled roof. The building stands two storeys high and has wooden brackets supporting the gutter. It is composed of three bays, each with sash windows that have moulded flush-frames and glazing bars. Notably, there is a canted oriel window on the first floor above the carriage entrance. The entrance door has three moulded panels and an oblong fanlight set in panelled reveals, framed by a plain raised wooden frame with a dentilled cornice supported by corbels.
