Description

Number 5 Westgate is an early 19th-century building constructed of brown brick with a hipped slate roof. It stands three storeys tall with a semi-basement. There is a band above the ground floor and a continuous sill at the first floor level. The façade features three bays, each with sash windows that have glazing bars. The entrance door consists of six fielded panels and is topped by a semi-circular fanlight, also with glazing bars. This is framed by a surround of Tuscan three-quarter columns, complete with an entablature. Access to the door is via steps that are adorned with a lyre-patterned cast iron balustrade.
