Description

Nos 3 and 4 Burgate are 18th-century buildings consisting of two parallel ranges that are two storeys high with a basement, constructed from red brick. They feature an old tiled roof with a stone cornice and sash windows with glazing bars. The doorcase of No 3 has been built out, while No 4 boasts a fine early 19th-century bow shopfront. The house incorporates masonry from the medieval Burgate that once stood on this site. The side and rear elevations are tile-hung on the first floor.
