Description

This is a tall, corner building located at 16 and 17 Church Street, with an additional connection to 24 Lower Bridge Street. It dates to 1714. The building is three storeys high and constructed of painted brick, topped with a hipped tiled roof featuring a heavy modillion eaves cornice and stringcourses. It has four windows facing Church Street and two windows facing Lower Bridge Street, with intact glazing bars above the ground floor. Number 16 features a 16th-century door consisting of 18 panels. Number 17 has an 18th-century doorcase with wooden hood mouldings supported on brackets, a rectangular fanlight, and panelled reveals. Numbers 16 to 18 (consecutively numbered) and 24 Lower Bridge Street form a group.
