Description

No. 62 Burgate is a large house built in the early 18th century. It features a rainwater head dated 1725 and stands three storeys tall, constructed of red brick with stone coping. The building has five 18th-century sash windows, all with intact glazing bars and moulded architraves. The second-floor windows are distinguished by raised keystones. There are two string courses and a plinth. The central entrance is framed by a wooden doorcase with a pediment, a reeded frieze, and Tuscan half columns, leading to a six-fielded panelled door and two steps. Nos. 62 to 69 Burgate form a group with No. 1 Burgate Lane.
