Description

93 and 95 High Street is a shop with accommodation above, currently empty. This building dates back to the 16th century and has been extensively remodeled in the late 17th or early 18th century, with further refurbishment in the 19th century. The front is stuccoed, while the rear features a mix of painted brick, stock brick, and weatherboarding, topped with a 20th-century tiled roof and two stock brick chimneystacks.

Number 93 is two storeys with attics and has two windows, while number 95 is a late 19th-century addition with one storey. Number 93 includes two flat-roofed dormers and two casement windows on the first floor. The ground floor showcases a late 19th-century shopfront with a wide fascia and pilasters. The rear elevation features an 18th-century stock brick staircase tower with a hipped roof set in a catslide, along with a weatherboarded extension to the left.

Inside, the ground floor retains some 19th-century cupboards, shelving, late 19th-century fireplace surrounds, plank doors, and a kitchen range. There is an 18th-century winder staircase. The first floor has principal beams and attic tie beams from the 16th century, along with a section of 18th-century wall frame with wattle and daub. The upper floors preserve original floorboards and some boarded doors. The 18th-century roof structure consists of through purlins with diagonal braces and a collar beam, which is superimposed on the 16th-century wall frame.
